Chinese scientists discover ‘effective’ antibodies for COVID-19
According to report, a team of Chinese scientists has isolated several antibodies that it says are “extremely effective” at blocking the ability of the new Coronavirus to enter cells, which eventually could be helpful in treating or preventing COVID-19. There is currently no proven effective treatment for the disease, which originated in China. Zhang Linqi at Tsinghua University in Beijing said a drug using antibodies like the ones his team have found could be used more effectively than the current supportive treatments. Plasma contains antibodies but is restricted by blood type. Another test was conducted to see if they could actually prevent COVID-19 from entering cells, Zhang Linqi said in an interview at Tsinghua on Monday. Missouri becomes first state to sue China over COVID-19
According to news report in the early hour of the day by TVCnews, it was reported that the state of Missouri in America has become the first state to sue the Chinese government over the Coronavirus. The lawsuit seeks to hold the Chinese government officially responsible for “deceit, concealment and inaction”. The lawsuit, filed in federal court by the state’s top lawyer, alleges Chinese officials are “responsible for the enormous death, suffering, and economic losses they inflicted on the world, including Missourians”. It added that the Chinese government lied to the world about the danger and contagious nature of COVID-19, silenced whistleblowers, and did little to stop the spread of the disease.
