DANGOTE REFINERY SLASH-DOWN PETROL PRICE

  It is believed that the drop in crude oil prices and the resumption of the naira-for-crude arrangement for local refineries in Nigeria may push the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise known by mass popularity as petrol, supplementary down to about N800 per litre in the coming weeks or months, as analysed by oil marketers and industry on Wednesday 16 th April. This however was evidence in action, as the Dangote refinery reduced its petrol price for the third time in less than six weeks, cutting down the ex-depot rate to N835 per litre from N865 per litre six days aforementioned. According to PUNCH, a notice sent to customers reveals that this new price includes Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority charges. This reduction marks a 3.5% decrease and N45 less than the N880 per litre sold last Wednesday.
