THE U.S. MISSION CALLED ON THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT TO FIND THE KILLERS OF KADUNA-BASED REVEREND FATHER

According
to the diocese of Kafanchan, Father Okechukwu was kidnapped in his residence in
Tachira on March 4, 2025, between 9.15 pm and 9.40 pm. His lifeless body was
found on March 5th. After being taken by his abductors, that Fr Sylvester was
cruelly killed in the early hours of Wednesday 5th of March 2025, Ash Wednesday.
The United States
Mission in Nigeria has condemned the killing of the Kaduna-based Catholic Reverend
Father by away describing it as brutal and senseless.
The U.S. Mission in
response to this mischievous act stated that: “We are distressed by the brutal and senseless
killing of Reverend Father Sylvester Okechukwu in Kaduna State, Nigeria. We
strongly condemn this horrific act of violence. We extend our deepest
condolences to the family, congregation, and community of Father. We strongly
condemn this terrible act of violence,” the diplomatic mission said in a terse
statement.
However, two days after
the priest’s death, the Mission called on the Nigerian government to find his
killers.

and senseless killing of Reverend Father Sylvester Okechukwu in Kaduna State,
Nigeria.
